Professor Isaac Abeku Blankson is the President of African University College of Communications (AUCC) and the Founder and President of Data Insight Africa, a consortium providing research consultancy and advisory services to organizations in Africa.

Before joining AUCC, he was the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), Chair of the Ghana Innovation Hub Board, a project under the World Bank-Ghana Ministry of Communications E-Transform Project.

He also was the Vice President and the Dean of the School of Communication Studies AUCC in Accra, Ghana. Professor Blankson spent most of his professional career in the United States until he relocated to Ghana in 2016.

While in the USA, he worked in various capacities, including as chair and professor in the Department of Applied Communication Studies at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and as Resident Director at Ohio University, USA. Professor Blankson holds a PhD in Communication, an M.A. in International Affairs (Development) from Ohio University, USA, an M.A. in Development Geography from the University of Oslo, Norway, and a B.A (Honors) in Geography from the University of Ghana.

His teaching, research and consulting engagements are in communication technologies, development communication, social media and electronic communication, crisis communication, media studies, environmental communication, organizational communication, and public relations.

He also consults on educational management, curricular and program design, quality assessment, communication and development, media training, and environmental communication. He has authored several publications and is co-editor of the book Negotiating Democracy: Media Transformations in Emerging Democracies published by SUNY Press. Professor Blankson is married to Dr Mrs. Faustina Hayford Blankson, a lecturer at the School of Behavioral Science, University of Ghana, and three grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family, coaching, and playing soccer.
