In commemoration of World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) globally celebrated on April 2 to advocate for the rights of autistic individuals, the Africa Center for Democracy and Socioeconomic Development, CDS Africa, engaged caregivers of children with developmental disabilities.

The engagement which took place in Accra on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 initiated discussions on implementing effective support systems and policies to alleviate the burden on caregivers and improve the well-being of children with developmental disabilities.

It also highlighted CDS Africa’s Commitment through an ongoing research project funded by IDRC that focuses on tackling unpaid care work for these children in Ghana.
